The Gostynin Lake District Tourist Communes Association (Stowarzyszenie Gmin Turystycznych Pojezierza Gostynińskiego, in short SGTPG) has been active since 1996, promoting the region's natural, cultural, historical, and tourist richness.
The area of the Association's activity is the western part of the Province (Województwo) of Mazowsze in addition to three communes from the Province of Kujawy-Pomorze. The region is characterised by the most number of lakes in the whole province of Mazowsze. Their beauty is emphasised by the natural qualities of the Gostynin-Włocławek Scenic Park (Gostynińsko-Włocławski Park Krajobrazowy, GWPK), the blue ribbon of the river Wisła (Vistula) and the Włocławek Reservoir.
The Association gathers together the neighbouring towns of Płock and Gostynin, the city and commune of G±bin, the communes of Gostynin, ٱck, Nowy Duninów, Iłów, Sanniki, Słubice, Szczawin Ko¶cielny, Baruchowo, Kowal, Włocławek, and the district of Płock.
The organisation was formed in order to promote and support development of different forms of tourism within the area of the Lake District. It looks after the natural attributes of the region, initiates actions in the area of environment preservation, ecology education, and cultural heritage dissemination. It has served as the initiator of multiple enterprises aimed at developing rural areas and has cooperated with similar organisations and institutions in Poland and abroad.
